Tucked Into Nature

Imagine managed, produced and installed a dynamic wayfinding solution for St. Mary-on-the-Lake Peace & Spirituality Center located in Bellevue, Washington.

Imagines’ wide range of services and capabilities are on full display in this expansive 18-acre natural environment. Imagine partnered with St. Mary and a local designer to concept and design signage pathways, repurposing native materials from the property. Newly upgraded entry and property signs were produced and installed to create directional indicators for the resident Sisters and their guests enhancing their peaceful and reflective walking journey.

Creating a Layered Experience

  • Directional Design

    Directional Design

Imagines’ ongoing collaboration with Osborne Marsh Design was integral in determining the design concept for the Peace & Spirituality Center. The Center envisioned creating a wayfinding experience utilizing the native fauna indigenous to the property.

  • Sustainable Practice

    Sustainable Practice

Imagine, as practice with any client, offers a pathway for sustainable materials usage or re-use. With SMOTL, our directive - repurposing fallen wood to create an environmentally friendly approach to a unique, rustic-looking, functional wayfinding system.

  • Northwest Wayfinding Experience

    Northwest Wayfinding Experience

Imagine produced a series of graphic elements (exterior wayfinding and window décor) that incorporated designs including the birds, animals, and flora and fauna that are found throughout the property.

  • Fabrication & Installation

    Fabrication & Installation

Imagine was tasked to fabricate and install new custom fabricated and painted metal framework to help support and elevate the property monument signage on the grounds as well as the directional signage.

Planning to Installation

From initial concepting, Imagine worked with the designer to designate best practices for materials, processes and installation management, zoning and permitting for the entire 6 month project. Through multiple onsite surveys and materials meetings with St. Mary’s and the designer, we established development of multiple styles of elements. From use of fallen Madrone trees and inset aluminum, cut lettering to direct to substrate printed Die Bond substrates, and interior first surface vinyl applications, this project took shape using a wide selection of skill sets and processes. The result…a beautifully produced wayfinding solution with light impact on the environment and long-term sustainability.
